About Me I am a psychotherapist and licensed clinical social worker who feels privileged that my job is to help individual adolescents, adults, and couples with a variety of issues. I completed my Ph.D. and advanced clinical training as a psychotherapist at the Institute for Clinical Social Work in Chicago, where I specialized in adolescent and adult psychotherapy and completed a master’s degree in social work (MSW) at Loyola University Chicago, School of Social Work. My clinical experience includes working in psychiatric hospitals and outpatient psychotherapy clinics. Before I entered the mental health field, I worked as a teacher and also hold a master’s degree in English education from the University of Kansas. More recently, I’ve enjoyed teaching master’s level psychology students at a local university. My approach to therapy is interactive, thoughtful, empathic yet strategic and practical and always hopeful. I believe change is a process and that people have the capacity to transform their lives – but sometimes need help figuring out how to do this. In a personal way, I understand career changes, the strains and joys of a long-term marriage, life transitions, managing the challenges of living in a modern, fast-paced world and coping with life’s unexpected curveballs.
